Labor Relations
As part of the Department of Personnel Services, the Office of Labor Relations is responsible for fostering harmonious and cooperative labor-management relations with the employee organizations that represent the County’s workforce. In this effort, this Office is charged with:
- Negotiating labor agreements with recognized employee organizations;
- Administering 26 labor agreements for 30 bargaining units;
- Resolving contract disputes through mediation, arbitration and administrative hearings;
- Administering employee relations codes, ordinances, statutes, and policies;
- Providing advice and counsel to County management regarding labor relations issues.
